INSIDER RISK TABLETOP EXERCISES

Test your programme.
Rehearse your team’s response.

Use a realistic insider scenario to test your Insider Risk Management Programme (IRMP) arrangements or how your team would respond to an insider incident.

TEST YOUR IRMP

Do the arrangements work together?

Examine whether reporting, assessment, escalation and decision ownership connect in practice. Identify gaps between policies and the way different functions understand their responsibilities.

TEST YOUR TEAM

How would you respond to an insider incident?

Rehearse decisions, information sharing and communication as a situation develops. Explore how your team handles uncertainty and protects people, information and operations under pressure.

HOW THE EXERCISE WORKS · ILLUSTRATIVE SCENARIO

A concern develops.Your team decides what happens next.

A facilitated tabletop is a discussion based exercise. Participants work through a controlled scenario, testing their thinking and coordination without disrupting live operations.

01 / Initial concern

An access concern is reported.

A colleague reports repeated access outside an agreed purpose. Who receives the concern, what is recorded and who needs to know?

02 / New information

The picture becomes more complex.

A related event adds context while operational pressures continue. What changes your assessment and when should the issue be escalated?

03 / Decisions and review

Your team explains its response.

Participants consider proportionate action, communication and ownership. The debrief identifies what worked and what needs improvement.

AN EXERCISE WITH A CLEAR PURPOSE

Rehearse, learn and strengthen readiness.

We agree the objectives, participants and operating context, then prepare a relevant scenario and guide the discussion. The session concludes with a debrief and practical follow up points.
